QLD: Fugitive faces court on attempted murder charge

GOLD COAST, Qld, Jan 18 AAP - A 28-year-old trawler hand appeared in the Southport
Magistrates Court today charged with the attempted murder of a man shot in the chest and
stomach in a Gold Coast suburb last week.

John William Phillips entered no plea to attempted murder, deprivation of liberty, unlawful
use of a motor vehicle and firearms charges when he appeared in the Southport Magistrates
