Fed: Sacked clothing workers protest to PM in Melbourne = 2

Mr HOWARD's told Mr MITCHELL that a workers' safety net scheme, proposed by the government,
won't apply to companies which folded before January 1.

He says he's been told the Braybrook employees had been paid their wages and superannuation
in full, and could receive up to 77 cents in the dollar.

However, one of the Braybrook workers rang into the program and said the workers had
not received their superannuation.

The Prime Minister would not agree to a meeting with the workers.
