Unlike people, machines can't cool themselves through perspiration, so cooling systems are a necessary part of many machines. A car's radiator is a visible example, and without an efficient cooling system many machines would quickly overheat and break down.
As a result, dealing with the heat that machines produce is a challenge for design engineers, and a York company's advances in heat-transfer technology have won it the New Technology Product of the Year Award from the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania, a division of the Susquehanna Alliance.
